Mid infrared spectroscopy and milk quality traits: A data analysis competition at the “International Workshop on Spectroscopy and Chemometrics 2021”

چکیده
A chemometric data analysis challenge has been arranged during the first edition of "International Workshop on Spectroscopy and Chemometrics", organized by Vistamilk SFI Research Centre held online in April 2021. The aim competition was to build a calibration model order predict milk quality traits exploiting information contained mid-infrared spectra only. Three different have provided, presenting heterogeneous degrees prediction complexity thus possibly requiring trait-specific modelling choices. In this paper approaches adopted participants are outlined insights obtained from analyses critically discussed.

Human Milk Analysis Using Mid-Infrared Spectroscopy.
BACKGROUND The composition of human milk is known to vary with length of gestation, stage of lactation, and other factors. Human milk contains all nutrients required for infant health but requires fortification to meet the needs of low-birth-weight infants. Without a known nutrient profile of the mother's milk or donor milk fed to a baby, the composition of the fortified product is only an esti...
متن کاملNovel Application of Near-infrared Spectroscopy and Chemometrics Approach for Detection of Lime Juice Adulteration
The aim of this study is to investigate the novel application of a handheld near infra-red spectrophotometer coupled with classification methodologies as a screening approach in detection of adulterated lime juices. For this purpose, a miniaturized near infra-red spectrophotometer (Tellspec®) in the spectral range of 900–1700 nm was used. Three diffuse reflectance spectra of 31 pure...
